Macau Tower Crazy Jump

Macau Tower hosted the seventh annual Crazy Jump Day on 4 December, powered by the world’s best low-cost airline AirAsia and organised by the world’s top adventure tourism company AJ Hackett.

Featuring the theme “AirAsia Destinations”, the costumed bungy jump event saw 23 participants from across Asia Pacific take the plunge from Macau Tower, the world’s highest commercial bungy jump at 233 metres operated by AJ Hackett.

The participants from Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Philippines, Australia and China (which covers Mainland and Macao) were chosen for their creativity, storytelling skills and the relevance of their costume to the theme, which was inspired by AirAsia’s extensive route network of more than 130 destinations.

The event was kicked off by Alan John Hackett, AJ Hackett CEO, Mdm Tan Sri Rafidah Aziz, AirAsia X Malaysia Chairman, Mr Adam Lichtenstein, Regional Manager of AJ Hackett International and General Manager of AJ Hackett Macau Tower, Ms Celia Lao, CEO of AirAsia Hong Kong and Macao, Mr Simon Chan, President of the Civil Aviation Authority, Macao, Ms Cecilia Tse , Deputy Director of Macau Government Tourism Office, Mr Eric Fong, Director of Marketing Department of CAM Macau International Airport Co Ltd, Mr Matthew Mok, AirAsia Group Head of Partnership, Mr Victor Kaw, Chief Commercial Officer of AirAsia BIG Loyalty, Mr Francis Lam, Executive Manager of Macau Tower, Mr Alcuin Li, Director of Commercial Division, TurboJET and Mr Rutger Verschuren, Area Vice President – Macau Operations of Artyzen Hospitality Group Limited and General Manager of Grand Lapa Macau.

After four hours of non-stop bungy action, Ernesto Humberto Trevino Amezcua was named winner of the Best Costume Award for his execution and wow factor. The Mexican national who currently resides in China also won the Best Jump of the Day Award for his style and excellent jump footage.

For having the best costume, Amezcua received a pair of AirAsia return tickets to Auckland, New Zealand, a chance for two people to experience the AJ Hackett bridge bungy and bridge climb there and 50,000 AirAsia BIG Points. He also won one AirAsia return ticket to Singapore, a chance for one person to experience the AJ Hackett Sentosa bungy jump, Giant Swing and Vertical Skywalk and 50,000 AirAsia BIG Points for his winning jump.

Supermoon Uluru Tour

Uluru is one of Australia’s most recognisable natural landmarks. The sandstone formation stands 348 m high, rising 863 m above sea level with most of its bulk lying underground, and has a total circumference of 9.4 km. Both Uluru and the nearby Kata Tjuta formation have great cultural significance for the Aṉangu people, the traditional inhabitants of the area, who lead walking tours to inform visitors about the local flora and fauna, bush food and the Aboriginal dreamtime stories of the area. Uluru is notable for appearing to change colour at different times of the day and year, most notably when it glows red at dawn and sunset. Kata Tjuta, also called Mount Olga or the Olgas, lies 25 km west of Uluru. Special viewing areas with road access and parking have been constructed to give tourists the best views of both sites at dawn and dusk.

AirAsia at Singapore Changi

AirAsia will relocate operations at Singapore Changi Airport from Terminal 1 to Terminal 4 effective 7 November 2017. All AirAsia flights scheduled for that day will arrive at and depart from Terminal 4. Departing and arriving flight schedules will not be affected by the move.

Guests departing from Terminal 4 are advised to arrive 3 hours before departure to ensure sufficient time to move through the new terminal, while those arriving in Terminal 4 are advised to inform their loved ones of the change.

Guests can reach the terminal via taxi, private hire cars, bus and personal transportation. Those using MRT services will need to head to Terminal 2 arrival hall and take the free shuttle bus service that will ferry guests to Terminal 4. The shuttle bus will be available every 10 minutes for 24 hours a day, every day of the week.

AirAsia Singapore CEO Logan Velaitham said the move to the new state-of-the-art, fully-automated Terminal 4 for all flights departing and arriving in Singapore is in line with AirAsia’s vision of becoming a digital airline.

“This year, the focus in Singapore is to embrace Fast and Seamless Travel (FAST). We collaborated with Changi Airport Group (CAG) to automate and innovate our check-in and airport experience. When you fly out of Changi with us, expect a fully automated service with FAST from door to gate, which integrates seamlessly into our own innovations on mobile and web,” he said.

He added: “Our ground staff have been upskilled into brand ambassadors for the airline, to assist guests with last-minute value-add services at check-in, such as buying travel insurance, inflight wifi or upgrading to Hot Seats.”

At Terminal 4, AirAsia will deploy 19 check-in kiosks, 14 auto bag drop machines, two document check counters and two payment counters at Row 4, with group check-in services available at Row 5.

Guests will be able to check-in at home via web and mobile, print their bag tags at our self-service kiosks and drop their bags at the auto bag drop machines when they come to the airport, or proceed directly to the gate if they have no check-in baggage.

Scoot low-cost airline

Scoot Tigerair Pte Ltd. launched flights in June 2012 on medium and long-haul routes from Singapore, predominantly to China and India. Initially, Scoot’s fleet consisted of Boeing 777 aircraft obtained from Singapore Airlines. The airline began to transition its fleet to Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft from 2015. On 25 July 2017, Tigerair was officially merged into Scoot using Tigerair’s air operator’s certificate (AOC) but retaining the ‘Scoot’ brand. With the change of AOC, the airline’s IATA code was changed from TZ to TR, and its ICAO code was changed from SCO to TGW, previously used by Tigerair. The airline’s head office is located at Changi Airport Terminal 3.
